5 Seconds of Summer made their return to Glasgow last night with their highly anticipated Everybody is a Star tour.
The Sydney natives performed at the OVO Hydro, marking their first appearance in Scotland in three years. During their performance, they debuted new looks, including fresh hairstyles and new wardrobes.
Luke Hemmings ( Lead Singer )

Luke Hemmings has undergone a notable style transformation in recent years. He was initially associated with a more alternative aesthetic, particularly during the era of the band’s debut album, 5 Seconds of Summer.
The band are heavily associated with the grungy Tumblr aesthetic of 2014, so much so that fans are still mourning the loss of Hemmings’ lip piercing a decade later.
Artists like 5 Seconds of Summer, who are seen as symbols of a particular era, often struggle to move beyond a single style. That is why it is important to note the direction the band has taken in recent years in order to evolve as artists.
In Glasgow, Luke wore a black leather jacket, a white suit shirt and tie and some casual blue jeans. This sort of style still plays with the grungy aesthetic they are best known for, but adds a sense of maturity and depth.

Calum Hood ( Bassist )

Calum, being of Scottish descent, marked the occasion by honouring his heritage.
Hood exhibited great pride in his roots through his choice of clothing, entering the arena in a traditional Scottish Kilt and Scotland’s 2026 World Cup away shirt.
Calum's choice of stage attire has become more mature and experimental over the years, evolving from loose tanks, flannels and skinny jeans - symbolic clothing items of the 2014 Tumblr Era.
By incorporating a wider range of styles into his stage wardrobe, he has challenged conventional gender norms and pushed the boundaries of what defines 'traditional rock star' attire.
The Kilt is a natural progression from his recent stylistic choices: skirts, dresses, and on-stage makeup. It not only aligns with his evolving performance identity but also symbolises a meaningful tribute to his Scottish roots.

Ashton Irwin ( Drummer )

Drummer Ashton Irwin is always the one to get the crowd going. When the show began, he was seen with a can of Irn Bru in hand, waving the Scottish Saltire to amuse the Scottish fans.
Ashton seems to have his own sense of style when it comes to his performance wardrobe.
He wore a leather waistcoat adorned with silver stars and buttons, leaning into a more Cowboy/Western vibe.
The drummer was later seen in a black cowboy hat, completing the western look.

Michael Clifford ( Guitarist )

Michael Clifford is notoriously known for his alternative aesthetic, embodying the original pop-punk style that defined 5 Seconds of Summer.
On this tour, Clifford decided to recreate his iconic red-haired look from 2015 - a fan favourite that gave fans a sense of nostalgia.
In Glasgow, he wore the classic 2000s boy-band combination - an oversized T-shirt over a long-sleeve top.
He paired this with some black paint-splatter jeans: accessorised with chains and lockets, which amplified his grungy look.

During the penultimate track, Everybody is a Star, 5 Seconds of Summer made their way through the crowd, assisted by security.
Leading the group was a traditional Scottish piper, which confirmed the band's admiration for Scottish Culture.
